Boston Market Restaurant Fundraisers

Families and congregations supported Water to Thrive by enjoying their Sunday lunch at a participating Boston Market on Sunday, October 26, 11am to 2pm.

Fifteen percent of designated sales were donated to Water to Thrive. Volunteers helped publicize and hosted at restaurants.  Anyway could attend and designate their tickets to go into the giving pool.

Recycling for a Cause

Water to Thrive partnered with Round2 Technologies on October 4th to host an electronics recycling event at Riverplace Elementary School. Redeemer Lutheran also sponsored a multi-day e-Recycling opportunity on October 9th through 12th.

"This event provides area residents with a socially responsible opportunity to dispose of end-of-life electronics without adversely impacting our environment," said Dick Moeller, founder of the Water to Thrive organization. "In addition," he said, "it will directly benefit the lives of hundreds of rural Ethiopians who struggle each day to find a drink of fresh clean water."

Round2 Technologies works with corporations, non-profits, and communities as a commercial resource for electronic recycling.

As results from these events are currently being processed, Becky Turner, Program Director for W2T, says, "We are pleased to say that we yielded a few truckloads of unused electronics, supported better environmental decisions, engaged multiple communities, and are changing lives as a result. When you rally people around multiple good causes, there is a win-win for all involved."
