About the Campaign

The third grade at Canyon Creek Elementary School in Round Rock invited Water to Thrive executive director Susanne Wilson to come and give a presentation about our work in Africa. It was a great morning, full of enthusiasm and energy and good questions from the kids.

After Susanne left, though, is when things really got good. The classes decided that Water to Thrive would be their non-profit that they raised money for. Students made a dozen or more of a product, then sold them at a school fair, with proceeds going to a Water to Thrive fund. Many teachers matched their class contributions. One second grader was so inspired that she asked for Water to Thrive donations instead of birthday presents and raised $500.

All told, these incredible elementary school students raised more than $2,500 for Water to Thrive!

Water to Thrive then reached out to our generous donors during Amplify Austin, and our faithful supporters rose to the challenge and helped the students finish their well!
