It’s WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY!

What is World Environment Day?

World Environment Day is a day dedicated by the United Nations to raising worldwide awareness and action for the environment. It has grown to be a worldwide outreach platform that is recognized in over 100 countries! World Environment day also represents a day for people to do something positive for the environment, which produces an exponential positive impact because of our collective power.

This year, WED is focused on climate change. The purpose is to try to build momentum toward a greater understanding of the importance and urgency of protecting our world, and more specifically, our islands from the negative impact of climate change. So how can you participate in making your voice heard for the environment today?!

Ways you can participate…

Think of ways your family can cut back on paper or plastic. Avoid driving your car if you are within walking distance. Donate your extra food and clothing to others. The UNEP also listed these suggestions on their website: Organize a clean up campaign, food waste reduction initiatives, walk-to-work days, plastic bans, art exhibits, tree planting drives, concerts, dance recitals, recycling drives, or social media campaigns.

We all share the goal of a sustainable and thriving life for everyone on this planet. There are so many ways that we can help to make this life possible and available to everyone. Here at Water to Thrive, we try to reach this goal by providing clean water to rural Africa.

Each and every action makes a difference!
“When multiplied by a global chorus, our individual voices and actions become exponential in its impact.”
