Are you thinking about starting something BIG at your school?  Follow these 8 easy steps, and you’ll have a Water to Thrive group raising funds and awareness for clean water in no time!

1)    Set a goal
Get together with clubs, campus ministries, friends, classmates, greek life and dorms to set a goal to raise money for Africa.  One well is $5,000…but think big! The sky is the limit!  Don’t forget to include alumni and staff in your campaign.
2)   Choose a campaign name
Picking a name for your campaign sets the tone for your fundraising efforts.  Get inspired and get creative!  Make sure it is something people will notice and want to contribute to.
3)   Make a message
Think of a campaign message that answers every question.  Who is the group raising the funds?  What is Water to Thrive—and the water crisis?  When is this campaign starting and ending?  Where is the campaign taking place and where can I learn more (events, fundraising opportunities)?  Why did this group choose to start a campaign?  How do I contribute?
4)   Go online
All the hard work is finished!  Go online and plug in your campaign information.  Don’t forget a picture! www.watertothrive.org/launch-campaign
5)   Promote
Spread the news about your new campaign through social media—Facebook, Twitter, blogs, newsletters and email are your best friends.  Don’t forget to update websites you’re linked to!  You can also go old school and post flyers around campus or hand them out in class.
6)   Fundraise
Think of some good fundraising events to kick off your campaign or boost it halfway through.
7)   Stay connected
W2T has opportunities to get more involved (by traveling to Ethiopia, becoming an ambassador or participating in our 5K).  If you find yourself needing extra ideas on staying connected or engaging your school, reach out to Lizzie Kovach–W2T Outreach and Marketing Manager—anytime.  lizzie@watertothrive.org
8)   Repeat!
Don’t stop after you’re successful. Continue and inspire others!
