We’re one week away from Austin’s biggest day of philanthropy, Amplify Austin, and we’ve set a goal of raising $10,000 for the Drop by Drop Fund. And in addition to asking for your financial support, we’re asking for more.
We need you to help share our story. From 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 1, people’s inboxes and social media feeds will be filled with Amplify appeals. It’s hard to be heard.
But if you can take a moment from time to time throughout the day to share our posts, that amplifies our voice. If you can make a post of your own that tells your friends and followers why you support Water to Thrive, that amplifies our support.
And if you can send out an email or appeal of your own for your circle of friends to make a donation to our effort that day, that amplifies our success.
It can be as simple as a post or an email. We’ve put some resources online that you can use. There’s a download of Amplify’s #ILiveHereIGiveHere Because sign: you write in your reason for supporting us, then take a picture of it or with it and use that as a social media post.
Our Facebook page and Instagram account are full of photos and videos that are public to share, and during the 24 hours of Amplify, we’ll have several new posts that you can share as well.
And if you want to take your efforts on our behalf to the next level, Amplify Austin has made it possible for you to create your own fundraiser for us on the official site. It is as simple as going to Water to Thrive’s page at AmplifyATX.org and clicking the green FUNDRAISE button. Amplify then will walk you through the steps.
It’s a big, huge, hectic day, with more than 700 Central Texas nonprofits reaching out to the community to ask for support. Every dollar we raise next week will allow us to bring in six more dollars for water. And every dollar we raise during the 24 hours makes us eligible for a share from two different matching funds.
Your donations are always so appreciated. And now we need your voice. Amplify our message, and you amplify our mission. As always, thank you, so much, for helping us build wells and change lives.
